Tan Delta Force Fin
Featured in
"Objects of Design"

" The "Force Fin" is an example of highly efficient water-sports equipment as well as a poetic design statement," Paolo Antonelli, Curator of the Department of Architecture and Design, Museum of Modern Art

Tan Delta Force Fins are included in "Objects of Design", a new publication from the Museum of Modern Art by the curator of its Department of Architecture and Design, Paolo Antonelli. "Objects of Design" showcases key works from the Museum of Modern Art's Architecture and Design Collection. "Objects of Design" features a wide variety of artifacts by great designers of the modern period. Tan Delta Force Fins were included as an example of contemporary manifestations of familiar genres using radical new materials and techniques of manufacture.

Tan Delta Force Fins are made of high performance polyurethane. Polyurethane has compression set, or "memory" unmatched by other materials used in the manufacture of fins. The memory allowed Force Fin's designer, Bob Evans, to make a fin with curves that maximize the smooth flow of water over the fin blade, and work most efficiently with your kick. Polyurethane also has the highest rebound, or snap. Its the snap that moves water faster, letting the fin do the work for you.

"Objects of Design" is available from the Museum of Modern Art at www.moma.org.
